Mahindra S 201

The upcoming Mahindra S201 SUV is based on the Ssangyong Tivoli and is expected to be offered in two iterations – five seater and seven seater. It is expected to feature typical styling cues of the homegrown carmaker and could flaunt the toothy grille and projector headlamps with DRLs. Expect ABS, EBD, and dual airbags to come as standard.

Under the hood, the Mahindra S201 is expected to get a new 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine developing maximum power of 142PS and a new 1.5-litre diesel unit yielding an impressive power of 126PS. It is expected to come with both manual as well as automatic options.

Expect the new Mahindra SUV to rival the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and the Ford EcoSport in India. The price of the Mahindra S201 is likely to fall in the vicinity of Rs 7 lakh – Rs 10 lakh.
